Diablo 3's global release didn't include mainland China and millions of Chinese Diablo fans had to migrate to other servers to play the game. Sources indicate that the game isn't too far away from getting approved in mainland China. Recently, a suspected Diablo 3 (CN) screenshot was uploaded to NGA (the biggest WoW forum in China) and caught a lot of attention.
Chinese players won't be happy about that because if the screenshot is real it means that the game is insanely censored - no corpses and no blood. But how can a game be a Diablo game if there's no blood, rotten corpse and the smell of death? That's not all, many monsters' names and even some classes' names are considered too violent and hence got renamed. The problem is when you read the edited names you don't feel any fear but funny and weird.
This will remain many Chinese players of the censorship of WoW's Wrath of the Lich King expansion, where the Undead grows flesh and corpses are replaced by boxes and bags. Now many players from mainland China choose to buy the Taiwanese and even US version of Diablo 3. No doubt that thousands of Chinese players are playing in Diablo 3's US and Asian servers.
